May Flowers and Love Birds

Welcome May Flowers!
Hey Ho,
The year is screamin by...
It's May and I am sharing my drawing of a Love Bird in memory of my own
Mr. Peaches.  He was with us for 15 years.  During the first two years of his life he flew between San Diego and Connecticut.  It a bird carrier he would board the plane (with other feathered pals) and me every month.  He had more frequent flier miles then most people.

A charming character he would visit some of my Make A Wish kids in the hospital. Sitting in my pocket until it was time to jump onto the hospital bed and wander over to give a kiss to a kid or two.  He brought lots of laughter too many! He loved to shred paper and was as perfect as pinking shears!  He loved to sit on shoulders, play with Matilda and chase the kitties.  He would stand next to the fish bowl and get then run back and forth playing with Snorkel and Fin.  Whenever we started singing he would always chime in.  He stood only three inches high but had the heart of a someone much bigger.  We miss Mr. Peaches and keep his memory close.

Love Birds are wonderful pets but they are like parrots in a little feathered suit.
They need lots of attention and companionship.  If you get a spoon fed Love Bird and interact with him/her everyday he/she will be an amazing life long companion.
But they are not like a toy.  If you don't have the time to spend with them don't get a Love Bird.  They can be noisy at sunset, they need clean water twice daily,
the eat a variety of foods.  If you get two Love Birds you will most likely be the odd man out so be prepared to be a "zookeeper!"

If you have any questions about Love Birds give me a shout.
Cheers,
Pam
